It is possible to attack a spyware either by installing real time spyware protection or scanners and removers. While real time protection does not allow the spyware to get inside the computer in the first place, scanners and removers help to locate the spyware inside the computer system and destroy it.
Spyware removers are software programs that deal with the basic task of destroying ad ware, spyware, rootkits, keyloggers, browser hijackers and Trojan horses. Spyware Doctor is an advanced form of spyware remover that helps to detect and remove spyware as well as ad ware. The recent most updated version of the Spyware doctor is Spyware Doctor 6.0.0.386.
Another important spyware remover that deserves mention is the Webroot Spy Sweeper 6.0. This removes all types of ad ware and spyware. It has been upgraded specifically for Windows Vista. It is very user friendly. It has an easy to understand Interface. There is a Home section where new users can get information on how to start a scan or check the shield status or even update definitions. If you alter any components accidentally, don’t worry. There is a Quarantine section by virtue of which you can restore the altered components.
The third spyware remover is ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 8.02. This is better than its version 7. It is good because it uses less system resources and even when the on-access scanning is turned on, this proves to be much more efficient. Both the firewall and the antivirus are of top quality. The anti spyware also works well.
However, the problem with most spywares is that they are not able to block pop up windows completely. So though pop up windows keep appearing on rare occasions, the computer is safe. This spyware remover uses much less resources but the 8.059 version is undoubtedly better than the 8.02 version. This version can be enhanced with Spyware Blaster, Spybot S&D and WinPatrol.
Spyware removers like STOPzilla 5.0 and Intelinet Spyware Remover 3.1are not as good as the price they command so think twice before purchasing them.
