Should You Remove Spyware
A spyware is a malicious form of software which when installed in to a computer can cause irrepressible damage to the system. The computer becomes slow and fails to function properly. The spyware interferes with the control of the user. Unwanted files can be loaded and useful files deleted. Internet connection becomes slow and the user may receive a lot of pop up advertisements.
Revenues from these advertisements will be directed towards a third party. The user has to suffer a lot as the computer stops functioning properly due to a lot of junk mail and the atrocious activities of the spyware. Therefore it becomes very essential to remove spyware.
Initially spywares were used as part of market research activities and statistical reports for advertising companies. But after the advent of the World Wide Web, things turned dangerous. Spyware can not only force the user to view unsolicited advertisements, it can also indulge in extortion and child pornography. It can also direct revenue from advertisements to third parties. Some of the most common spywares are Nail.exe (aka Aurora), Winfixer 2006, CoolWebSearch, Gator, Aupdate spyware and 180search Assistant Spyware.
The best way to guard against spyware is not to get infected in the first place. But if you have already had a spyware in your computer, you can remove that spyware by installing a scanner and remover in to your system. The scanner will scan the files and the remover will remove the spyware programs. They perform just as their names imply. The files of the operating system, the installed programs and the Windows registry, all are viewed by them for a possible contamination.
Then simply, the remover destroys all the file components that contain spyware in them. This is one of the easiest methods to remove spyware from your computer system. NOD32 is the example of an excellent virus and spyware scanner.
However, the current problem is even more pressing. Most of the spyware programs are cleverly patched up with useful programs. Removing spyware from the computer may lead to a loss of the useful programs as well. The anti spyware industry is finding out new methods to remove spyware that would destroy the harmful programs but not harm the benign files.
But the number of spywares is increasing in leaps and bounds everyday. It was reported that in 2007 alone, more ad wares were made than in the last 20 years. It is better not to get infected by a spyware in the first place. You should install an anti spyware in to your system. This would help to get rid of the spywares before they are integrated into your system.
