Reviews of Anti-spyware – Software is a Modern Necessity!

Spyware is an insidious threat. It'll watch what you read and what you do - and worst of all, it's almost impossible to remove without damaging your computer! But what one person can create, another person can remove. Anti-spyware software is a modern necessity!

We've tested dozens - even hundreds! - of spyware removal programs. Some of them are great, most of them get the job done (more or less), and too many simply don't work. We've gathered the top contenders in the field, and reviewed them here for your convenience!

Alert Spy popular

Fast. That's the impression that we came away with. Everything was fast - download, install, updating the software, even the actual process of scanning the PC went quickly, to say nothing of removing the spyware applications. This application was clearly streamlined to work very quickly, so that you can go back to your work with a minimum of fuss. In order to make things easier, you can even schedule the program to run searches every night, or every week - whenever you know you won't be using the computer. If you're looking for a program to stay out of your hair, this is the one to choose

Pest Bot popular

Pestbot is great. In addition to removing spyware, it targets and deletes adware. That said, this program could use some polish. It works quickly and efficiently, removing every trace of spyware and adware on our testbed computer, but the interface is a bit clunky. The update button is hidden away in the Tools menu, rather than out in front - fortunately, it asks you on loading whether or not you want to update. If the interface isnt such a big deal, go ahead and give it a try.

Pest Protector

Contrary to the name of the product, it doesn't actually protect pests. What it does is protect you from pests, and it does it with ease. The first impression we got was when it loaded up and asked us, right off the bat, if we wanted to update the database. Needless to say, we found that to be a very nice touch. After updating, it automatically scanned for any potential spyware or adware and removed every item. PestProtector works great - fast, easy, and powerful

Spy Destroy

The navigation of the website aside, Spy Destroy is actually pretty good at what it does. We were a bit surprised, since the interface is fairly raw - novice computer owners may feel a bit intimidated by the look of the program. Not to say that it's difficult to understand, because a lot of care has clearly been taken to make the process as quick and easy as possible. In other words, Spy Destroy is a decent product if youre not too picky about what it looks like

Spyware Removal

Spyware Remover lives up to it's name. While we we're running our tests, it updated itself and removed spyware fairly quickly. We don't have any quibbles with this program - it does what it sets out to do, without fanfare or applause. Spyware Removers been streamlined so much that using it is a snap. Give it a whirl, since it comes with a free scan ...visit http://antispywarereviews.blogspot.com

How to Choose the Right Spyware Software

Choosing the right spyware software can be difficult due to the amount of software that is available. Here's some tips to give you a better idea of what you should be looking for when you buy.

The first thing is to find out what other people think about the software that you want to find more information on.  Plenty of sites offer reviews and comparisons of software like cnet.  Check out these sites to see what they say.  Amazon also has a plethora of user reviews on a wide array of products including software.

Next is the age old question of free versus paid software.  Well, my take on the situation is all free programs offer a paid version.  So, obviously and apparently you are missing out on something with the free version of the software.  I recommend you buy the software.  But shop around.  You want the most removal power for the least money.

When it comes to customer support, it's an important factor with spyware software.  If a problem arises, you want to be able to easily contact someone to resolve your problem, or further investigate a present problem.  Check to see that the program you download and install and or pay for, has some type of customer service.  Of course, this will all depend on how computer saavy you are.  If you are a beginner, you obviously are going to want some better support.

You aren't going to be running the scan over and over again, so you are going to want some type of protection all the time.  Because spyware actively attacks your computer, you are going to want some continual protection.

Updates are important for your spyware software as new spyware is constantly being made.  Having an updated program can catch spyware right on the fly.  This is definitely an important factor.

Make sure you can back up and or restore your system if something goes terribly wrong when you are cleaning the spyware from your system.  If anything happens to your computer where you cannot access information, you will have a back up file to fall back on.

Back ups and Restore

These are just some guidelines when choosing the right spyware software.  Continue to ask questions about the software when deciding to choose.

I always recommend Spyware Doctor because I believe it's the best all around spyware software.  It has worked for every type of spyware that has gotten into my computers.

Adware and Spyware Exposed – How They Can Harm Your PC

In today's world, technology plays a huge role in people's comforts, leisure and learning. The personal computer and the Internet has been such an essential tool in how people relate to one another and get certain jobs done.

As more people rely heavily on these two items, you will see even more people take advantage of these users. These people will cause untold amounts of damage and be a big nuisance. What is to make life easier can make life crazy.

You may have noticed it is hard to keep the computer from unwanted ads not only from spam and viruses but from something called spyware and adware.

What do Adware and Spyware do?

Adware and Spyware work jointly to bring your Internet to a literal crawl. They keep stabbing at your computer with advertisement popups which can lead to a compromise in your computer's security and privacy.

What is the difference between Spyware and Adware?

What is Adware -

Suppose you are on the net today. When you go back to surf the next day, your browser homepage has been changed to something you are sure you did not change it to. Not only that but the desktop and computer has a new program installed on it, you are certain you did not do. You, like many others, are a victim of adware.

What exactly is Adware -

Adware is mainly an advertising supported software that is downloaded, displayed and advertised on the computer where the software as been installed.

Because of this installation, it may install another component which will keep sending your computer advertisements usually through popups or toolbar on the browser. Some adware can take over the browser, redirecting you to sites you have no desire to see. (example: this is huge problem from the adult website industry.)

There are some legitimate adwares that do the popups for a source of income by offering users software for free. An example of this is Eudora. Eudora is an e-mail program that can be run in "sponsored mode". With this mode, the program will display an ad window and maybe three or so links on the toolbar.

This program and others like it do not keep tabs on your computer use nor will it give other companies your information. The best part of Eudora is that once you stop using it, it stops running popups and toolbar links.

What is Spyware?

Spyware is usually used for web tracking.

Suppose you do some on-line banking and settle credit card debt. When you try to use your card, you find that you have been completely cleaned out. You are broke! This is a case of Spyware.

Spyware is dangerous because it monitors all of your Internet surfing including collecting passwords, user IDs, credit card numbers and other sensitive information.

Spyware is very close to a Trojan horse (program that introduces viruses rather than getting rid of them.) which you can download freely but then your computer is infected with spyware itself.

What does Spyware to do the computer -

Spyware steals a user's computer memory and steal up some of the bandwidth (this is the amount of information that can be used during a specfic period.) Spyware makes surfing the Internet slower even if the user has a high speed connection. Spyware can cause a computer to become unstable or even crash.

License terms because of their sheer size are not read completely when they are downloaded. They contain warnings regarding the software.

That's the difference between the two computer softwares that are malicious in most instances.

Adware Spyware and Virus Threats – Must Know Facts For PC Protection

Anyone who uses a computer whether it be for professional use or personal use knows that there is a real threat from spyware, adware and computer viruses. All three are similar in that all of them are complete nuisances for users. Yet, they are different but how?

Spyware Rundown

Did you know that spyware is not designed to intentionally harm a computer? However, what it does is open pathways for someone besides the owner of the computer to communicate with it. Typically spyware will record the types of web sites the owner visits which then get sent to web advertisers which allows them to give you unwanted e-mails and annoying pop-ups.

No wonder spyware is looked upon as such a bad thing, ranked to the top with viruses and Trojan horses. It is actually more intrusive than adware is. Adware does not have the capabilities to like spyware to have their own executable programs that monitor and record keystrokes. It will also scan hard drives and look at the computer's applications that a user would normally use. These include chat programs, cookies and the web browser's settings.

Once spyware has all the information it needs, it will send it back to the spyware creator. This data can be then used for various things including marketing and advertising purposes and even sell the information to other parties.

Adware Overview

Although it is annoying, adware is a legitimate form of freeware. Much similar in spyware's original design for advertising, it comes packaged as a software or program. Once these programs are installed, the adware is also installed. Sometimes though, some adware forms, comes from downloading advertising pieces that go with a particular application. Once it is utilized, so is the adware. No doubt, adware is like spyware in that it tracks and records user information for its program authors.

Computer Infection Signs

So how do you know if you have spyware on your computer? One big sign is pop-ups. If you are visiting a site and a pop-up occurs not related to the site you are visiting, a bulb should flash over your head as a wake up call. More times than not, spyware advertisements will have adult oriented themes to it. Should you notice your computer taking longer to load or its really going slow, then spyware and other components related to it, have made their way in. Make sure to have a spyware remover program that will scan and remove said infected files.

Computer Virus Infections

Many people are quite aware of the danger that proceeds with having virus on their computer. They know the destruction these little buggers can do. They were created for only one purpose in mind - to create mayhem on your computer. Viruses will destroy what they come into contact with and then begin to self-replicate. They will touch as many components of your computer software including the operating system as it can before it is detected.

How To Be Rid of Annoying and Destructive Items

There are plenty of anti-virus softwares in the market, many of which provide spyware and adware scan and remove utilities. Others centrally focus on locating and then deleting or destroying these two programs. Whether you have an all-in-one anti-virus program or a dedicated scanning program, have them search your computer on a regular basis by setting up a timer so they can do a search, find and destroy. Remember to update your products often.

Also download a firewall protection such as ZoneAlarm to keep out most of these destroyers.
